System:
64bit OpenSuSE 11.4 KDE 4.6.0

You need to change the install path to lib64. Suse-64-bit expects its libraries there, not in lib.

Then it works fine.

Many thanks for the nice Ticker! I was missing it in KDE4 as knewsticker is gone. I really wonder how one could teach google to find your site, when searching for knewsticker KDE4.

One of the things I missed in KDE4 after upgrading from KDE3 was the news ticker, it was in KDE4 for a while but I think removed because it was quite broken. So glad there is netnewsticker, I really like this plasmoid.

Just one thing. Please would it be possible to provide source tarballs as a release as well? I'd like to get this into Gentoo Linux but live git build are not very nice to package.

Heissen Dank! Das .deb funktionierte unter Debian 6.0 nicht, aber selbstgebacken tut's. Damit hab ich endlich wieder mein liebstes Spielzeug aus KDE 3.
Noch toller wäre es natürlich, wenn es auch noch diesen netten Aufklapp-Pfeil gäbe, über den Nachrichten gezielt ausgewählt werden konnten - aber auch so einfach super! Danke!

Laundry list:

I loved your Plasmoid, but it needs some extra things.
1. Plasma background. I want to remove it (text on transparent BG, no Plasmoid default BG, see the Fortune plasmoid on how to remove it.
2. Custom BG color. Great when used with the KDE 3.5 mode.

Das RPM hat bei mir (SUSE11.3 Kde 4.4.4) nicht getan
Beim reinziehen hat es eine Fehlermeldung gegeben:
"plasma Komponente nicht auffindbar" oder so ähnlich

nach selbst compilieren hat es dann gefunst :-).
Trotzdem -> Toll wäre: entweder rpm für Suse oder evtl von Packman (http://packman.links2linux.de/) basteln lassen ?

Auch wenn Du, glaube ich, Debian benutzt, das Programm ist zu schade um "nur" auf einem Linux zu laufen
